Hamradio events

Over the last few years I have participated in a few hamradio events.
Dag Voor De Radio Amateur 2025
On November 15, 2025, the 62e Day for the Radio Amateur (DvdRA) will take place. This day was organised by VERON, Association for Experimental Radio Research in the Netherlands.
Besides the official part with the announcement of the RadioAmateur of the (previous) year, by the scientific Radio Fund Veder, there are several lectures, a self-build exhibition, the AMRATO (commercial traders), and of course the VROM the VERON Parts Market. Various committees, working groups and associations will present themselves during the day.
As the last few times, my son and I participated in the self-build exhibition and although Joost isn't a hamradio operator, he is very skilled in 3D design and 3D printing. So the last few years he is joining me to these events and is giving demonstrations on 3D design and shows live 3D printing.
Most of the time I don't have any pictures from those. But on the DVDRA 2025, OM Erik PD2EW asked us if we would liked our picture taken and made a few with my sons mobile phone.

This year a OM came to us with a small amplifier which had a broken cover and asked us if it was possible to 3D print one. Joost took the challange and in less then 10 minuts he drawn the design and printing of the part took 60 minutes on our slow demo 3D printer. The people where impressed about how this could be done so quickly. Then we told them that, our demo printer is a 8 year old Ender 3 Pro printer and our BambuLabs P1S printers at home (we both have one for prodution printing), are much faster (up to 8 times as fast) and the print at home should only less then 10 minutes. To prove this, we showed them a video from a part I had with me printed at home and generated a command file for the Ender 3Pro on the spot and showed that the Ender 3 Pro print would take 7 times longer.
And with that, I think we may have inspired a few people from upgrading there printer to a more modern one. When you print as much as us and especialy as the large projects of Joost, it's worth investing in a faster modern 3D printer.
To promote 3D print in our hobby, on the DVDRA2025 I was giving away free 3D printed keytags with hamradio designs and in return asked for a donation for the Commissie Gehandicapte Radioamateurs (CGR) of the Veron (committee handicapped radio amateurs).

The visitors liked them and at the end of the event I handed over the donation can to Tjeerd PA3GNZ.

It wasn't that much (a little over 80 euro), but all the small donations are helping this committee to support handicapped radio amateurs.
Here a some overview pictures of the DVDRA 2025.

And after we came home and unloaded the van, it was dinner and movie time. But just about 30 minutes in the movie, Joost fell asleep on the couch.

We are looking back a good hamfest and when possible, we are going to participate in the next.
